Tonight's Big Matchups 04/14

It's a pretty light schedule on a Sunday night in the NHL, with only 3 games on tap. Here's a look at tonight's games around the NHL:

Chicago Blackhawks @ St. Louis Blues: The Hawks, led by MVP candidate Patrick Kane, are on a 4 game winning streak and have already secured first place in the Central. However their last loss came at the hands of these same Blues a week and a half ago. The Blues meanwhile, after 3 straight shutout wins, were a no-show in their last game against the surging Columbus Blue Jackets and are looking to get back to their winning ways. Prediction: 3-1 Hawks.

Tampa Bay Lightning @ Buffalo Sabres: At this point, neither team has much to play for as they sit 11th and 12th in the East with almost no hope at making the playoffs. Tampa goalie Ben Bishop has allowed 17 goals in his last 5, and Sabres Ryan Miller has put up mediocre numbers this year. Look for this one to be an entertaining goal-fest, with little emotion from anyone not named Steve Ott. Prediction: 5-4 Lightning.

Detroit Red Wings @ Nashville Predators: This one will be the only game of the night, as the Wings try to get back into the top 8 against a Nashville team on a 5 game losing streak and looking towards next season. The highlight of the game may be trade deadline acquisition and prized prospect Filip Forsberg suiting up for his first game as a Pred. Prediction: 3-2 Wings.

That's it for tonight's NHL games, I'll personally be keeping an eye on the Wings/Preds game, which I think will be some fantastic hockey from both sides. Please comment with your predictions on tonight's match-ups!
